Pakistani-style Macaroni

 Makki Madni Catering

Here's a recipe for Pakistani-style Macaroni. Note that cuisine varies greatly within Pakistan and this is just one example. This recipe uses typical South Asian spices to give the pasta a flavor twist.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups macaroni pasta
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded (optional)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 2 green chilies, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Cook the macaroni pasta according to the instructions on the package until it is al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until it becomes translucent.
  3. Add the minced garlic and ginger to the pan and sauté for a minute until they release their aroma.
  4. Add the chopped tomatoes, green chilies, and bell pepper to the pan. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and well-cooked.
  5. Add the turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala to the pan. Stir well to combine the spices with the vegetables.
  6. If you're using chicken, add it now and cook for a few minutes until it is heated through.
  7. Add the cooked macaroni to the pan. Mix well to combine the pasta with the spiced vegetable mixture. Cook for a couple more minutes to let the flavors meld together.
  8. Taste and add salt as needed. Garnish with fresh coranider leaves.
  9. Your Pakistani-style macaroni is ready to serve! Enjoy it as a side dish or a main course.

Please note:

Pakistani cuisine varies greatly from region to region, and this is just one way to make macaroni with a Pakistani twist. Feel free to add other ingredients or spices to suit your personal preferences.
